Starting in 1971 it was learned that a conscientious painter was not easy to find. Following an epiphany I started the Jim the Painter painting business and it continues to grow yearly due to our unwavering meticulous attention to detail. 80% of our new business comes from referrals from previous customers, their neighbors and relatives. Sometimes we do the cedar siding and trim exterior one year and the next year we're called back to do the entire interior of the house. In the mean time several neighbors have us refinish the outside of their house and so forth and so on.
It is not hard for clients to see that quality craftsmanship we put into our work. We are professional painters who enjoy making our customers happy. Being personable and tidy is our way of letting you know that your business is appreciated. Treating you and your home with respect is just the right thing to do. Being blessed with so many happy customers is why we've gotten so many referrals over the years.
The company was actually named by our clients. After the estimate is made, and the client is called back to schedule, we would often get a different person on the call back. They would forward it to the home owner and we would hear: “its that Jim the painter”. It was decided that the company would be called Jim the Painter and later it was modernized to be known as JTP Contracting. But please call us by our first name, Jim the Painter.
As the years have gone by we have done more and more services to facilitate making clients happy. Those little odd jobs such as changing light fixtures or adding crown moldings or chair rail moldings often provide a whole new feel to a room. That has expanded into changing out windows, doors, and removing walls for a more open spacious modern design. We finish out basements, attics, replace kitchen cabinets and drywall garage ceilings and walls. We also upgrade powder rooms to become full baths or upgrade a spare room to become a bedroom and both of these add a substantial appraisal value to the home.
Many people want faux or accent colored walls to make their home unique. Whether the bedroom, dinning room, kitchen or office, accent is used more and more to break up the traditional four wall design and to add interest and personality. Approximately one in every three paint jobs incurs wall accents or faux.
We always work with the client to assure they get what they expect. We are not happy until the client gives their approval and they feel delighted. We always go the extra mile and you know what – the client usually goes the extra mile to rave and become a quality referral. That is satisfaction from the painters perspective and that is a good job well done!
